SO HEY GUYS, a little info on bad luck (BL) chimes! BL chimes wreak havoc and misfortune on their bonded individual- if they decide to have one. It IS possible for a BL chime to separate from their bonded individual at will, rather than when the individual expires. This often happens when the chime's individual has genuinely tried to redeem themselves for whatever actions caused their chime to turn. Chimes don't really have the capacity to be evil!
